Bear Hair by Chuck Safe Reopening Plan
Will update as soon as I am allowed to re open again.
NEW GUIDELINES FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, THE CDC AND SAN DIEGO COUNTY REGARDING COVID19
RE-ENTRY TO SALONS AND BARBER SHOPS
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
NO WALK-INS. I will be serving fewer customers each day to allow more time for cleaning and disinfection protocols. Walk-ins will not be accepted, and all services will be strictly scheduled by appointment only.
TIMELY ARRIVAL. Current cleaning and disinfection protocols require about 15 minutes between each client. You must not arrive too early or too late for your appointment. If you arrive to your appointment early (within 5 minutes), please text me to see if I am ready for you. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will need to reschedule your appointment as I will not have adequate time to properly clean and disinfect the Salon for the next customer.
REMOTE CHECK-IN AND WAITING. The Salon lobby is currently closed. If you arrive to your appointment early, you will be asked to wait outside the Salon or in the comfort of your vehicle. Please either text or call me when you arrive so I can check you in and so I can ensure that only one customer is in the salon at a time.
SYMPTOM AND TEMPERATURE SCREENING. You will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival to the Salon. The screening may include a temperature check with a touchless thermometer and/or a series of screening questions. If you indicate or exhibit signs of COVID-19 symptoms/illness your current appointment will be cancelled, and you will be asked to reschedule your appointment at least 14 calendar days in the future.
MANDATORY FACE COVERINGS. You must use a face covering at all times when in the Salon.
You are encouraged to wear a well-fitted face covering with ear loops to ensure the covering does not interfere with your haircut service.
HANDWASHING/SANITIZER. Upon entry to the Salon, you will be Squirted with hand sanitizer with at least 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol or if you prefer directed to the restroom to wash your hands with soap and water. You may not use the shampoo bowl to wash your hands.
CLEAN HAIR. Whenever possible, you are strongly encouraged to arrive to your appointment with freshly cleaned hair as this will minimize unnecessary physical contact and time in the Salon.
NO ADDITIONAL GUESTS. In support of physical distancing guidelines, please do not bring additional people, children, or animals (unless a certified service animal) along with you to your appointment. All clients will be served on a one-to-one basis. If you have a disability and require assistance or accommodation, please contact the Salon as soon as possible so I will have adequate time to prepare and provide appropriate and effective accommodations to meet your needs.
SALON ENVIRONMENT
LOBBY/WAITING AREA. The Salon lobby is currently closed. If you arrive to your appointment early, you will be asked to wait outside the Salon or in the comfort of your vehicle. Please either call or text me when you arrive so I can check you in and so I can ensure that only one customer is in the salon at a time. Only clients with an appointment will be allowed in the salon.
AMENITIES. For the safety of all customers, and to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, amenities such as magazines, books, self-serve water stations, mints, promotional giveaways, and other non-essential high-touch items have been removed from the salon.
PRODUCTS FOR SALE. Products for sale are available. However, to avoid potential contamination, you are asked to refrain from touching any of the product displays. If you are interested in purchasing products for sale, please ask for assistance and I will retrieve them for you.
CONTACTLESS PAYMENT. State guidelines recommend using cashless or contactless payment methods whenever possible. When possible, please use a service such as Venmo, PayPal, ApplePay, GPay, CashApp, or other touchless payment methods. Cash and Credit/Debit cards are still accepted.
INFECTION CONTROL
PHYSICAL GREETINGS. Though I am always delighted to welcome customers to the Salon, I will not be able to shake your hand, hug you, or engage in any other physical greeting that will break physical distancing protocols.
SELF-SCREENING. To protect your health, and as a preventative measure, I will be self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms/illness each day. If for any reason, I do exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 or if I become exposed to a client exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, I will suspend all business for at least 14 calendar days.
PROTECTIVE ATTIRE. I am required to wear a facial covering for the entirety of your hair service. As an additional safety measure, I may also be utilizing other protective gear such as safety glasses, disposable gloves, and/or face shields. Though this attire may not be terribly attractive or welcoming, please remember these items help protect you and me from the dangers of Coronavirus.
RESTRICTED ENTRY. To protect the health of all of my customers, I will be employing a strict one-customer-in one-customer-out protocol. Do not expect to walk in as the last customer is exiting. I will need time for cleaning and sanitation procedures before your arrival.
CAPES. You will receive a properly laundered cape to wear before any hair services begin.
INCREASED CLEANING AND DISINFECTION. In addition to all regular standards of sanitation put forward by the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, I will also be implementing even greater protocols for cleaning and disinfection. Commonly used surfaces and equipment (e.g. door handles, light switches, counters, seats, computer terminals, payment equipment, phones, handwashing areas, restrooms, mirrors, shelves, workstations, etc.) will be thoroughly disinfected each day and between each and every customer. A UV-C sanitizing light will be used at the end of each day to help prevent viral activity in the Salon.
PLASTIC SHEETING. In addition to disinfection procedures, some areas of the Salon will be covered in plastic wrap or plastic sheeting to reduce contamination by touching or droplet dispersion. Plastic coverings will be sanitized or will be discarded and replaced frequently throughout each day.
VENTILATION. When possible and appropriate, windows will be kept open during your hair service to allow for increased ventilation. An air-filtering fan with UV light is also utilized to help clean the air and increase the quality of ventilation in the salon.
